Place the wine, sugar, honey and cinnamon stick in a saucepan and simmer until the sugar has dissolved. Cut a small cross down into the top of each fig using a sharp knife, then place in a greased baking dish. Pour the wine mixture over each fig and top each with a little of the butter.
Bake in a preheated oven, 200°C (400°F), Gas Mark 6, for 10–15 minutes until the figs are soft. Serve with yogurt or crème fraîche and the sauce drizzled over.
