Whirly Sausage Rolls

  • 200 g (7 oz) ready-rolled puff pastry
  • 16 chipolata sausages
  • beaten egg, to glaze
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • ketchup, to serve
  • Unroll the pastry and cut into 12 x 1.5 cm (3/4 inch) strips widthways.
  • Wind a strip of pastry around each sausage and place on a baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle over a few sesame seeds.
  • Bake in a preheated oven, 200°C (400°F), Gas Mark 6, for 20 minutes until the pastry is well risen and golden and the sausages are cooked. Serve warm with ketchup for dipping.
