Tuna, Pepper and Cheese Calzones

cook 30 mins
  • 1 x 145 g (5 oz) packets pizza base mix
  • flour, for dusting
  • 200 g (7 oz) can tuna, drained
  • 1 small green pepper, cored, deseeded and roughly chopped
  • 50 g (2 oz) Cheddar cheese, grated
  • salad, to serve (optional)
  • Tip the pizza base mix into a bowl and make up with warm water according to the packet instructions. Divide into 4 pieces, place on a lightly floured surface and knead briefly to produce smooth balls of dough. Roll out each ball to about a 20 cm (8 inch) circle.
  • Mix together the tuna, green pepper and cheese in a bowl, then divide the mixture between the 4 circles. Lightly brush the rims with a little cold water, then fold the dough over the filling and press to form a half-circle. Place the 4 half-circles on baking sheets and bake in a preheated oven, 220°C (425°F), Gas Mark 7, for 15–18 minutes until golden and cooked.
  • Serve hot or warm with salad, if liked.
