Hull the strawberries (if necessary) and blend the fruit in a food processor or blender until completely smooth. Remove the seeds by straining the purée through a non-metallic strainer into a large jug. Stir in the vanilla syrup.
Fill 2 tall, narrow drinking glasses or sundae glasses with crushed ice and pour in the vanilla-flavoured fruit mixture.
Pile extra fruits on top of the drinks. Serve with long spoons and extra syrup, if liked, for stirring in.
