Strawberry and Raspberry Eton Mess

  • 75 g (3 oz) strawberries, hulled
  • 75 g (3 oz) raspberries
  • 450 ml (3/4 pint) double cream
  • 4 meringue nests, broken into pieces
  • Place the strawberries and raspberries in a bowl and lightly crush with a fork.
  • Whip the cream in a separate bowl until just thick enough to form soft peaks. Lightly fold in the meringue pieces and the crushed fruit.
  • Spoon into glasses or dishes to serve.
