Ingredients
  • 325 g (11 oz) ready-rolled sweet dessert pastry
  • 4 tablespoons strawberry jam
  • icing sugar, for dusting
Directions
  • Unroll the pastry and cut out numbers using large biscuit cutters, cutting each number twice.
  • Place on baking sheets and bake in a preheated oven, 190°C (375°F), Gas Mark 5, for 10 minutes until golden and crisp.
  • Place the numbers together in pairs. Spread one with a layer of jam and top with the other. Dust with icing sugar and arrange together significant numbers to make dates such as birthdays or ages.
