Hot Toddy Oranges

  • 8 clementines
  • 50 g (2 oz) honey
  • 75 g (3 oz) light muscovado sugar
  • grated rind and juice of ½ lemon
  • 4 tablespoons whisky
  • 300 ml (½ pint) boiling water
  • 15 g (½ oz) butter

Preheat the slow cooker if necessary; see the manufacturer's instructions. Peel the clementines, leaving them whole. Put the remaining ingredients in the slow cooker pot and mix together.

Add the clementines. Cover with the lid and cook on low for 2–3 hours or until piping hot. Spoon into shallow bowls and serve with just-melting scoops of vanilla ice cream.
