Chocolate Muffin and Custard Trifles

Ingredients
  • 400 g (13 oz) can custard
  • 125 g (4 oz) milk chocolate, broken into pieces
  • 2 chocolate muffins, broken into chunks
  • 400 g (13 oz) can black cherry pie filling
  • 150 ml (1/4 pint) whipping cream
  • 1 small chocolate flake, broken into pieces
Directions
  • Heat the custard iand chocolate in a small saucepan over a low heat, stirring, until the chocolate melts and the custard is smooth. Leave to cool slightly.
  • Divide the muffins between 4 glasses or bowls, or 1 large bowl, and spoon the cherry pie filling over the top.
  • Pour over the chocolate custard. Whip the cream until just thick enough to form soft peaks, then place spoonfuls on the custard. Scatter the chocolate flake pieces over the top.
