Caramel Bananas

  • 25 g (1 oz) butter
  • 4 bananas, peeled and halved lengthways
  • 6 tablespoons toffee sauce, such as dulce de leche
  • 6 tablespoons double cream
  • ice cream, to serve
  • Melt the butter in a large frying pan. Add the bananas and cook for 2 minutes, turning once, until just starting to soften and brown. Remove from the pan and place in serving dishes.
  • Heat the toffee sauce and cream in the pan and simmer for 1 minute until bubbling. Leave to cool slightly.
  • Drizzle the sauce over the bananas and serve with scoops of ice cream.
