Berry and Mint Compote

  • 450 g (14 1/2 oz) mixed fruit, such as strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, and halved and stoned plums
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • grated rind and juice of 1 orange
  • 8 mint leaves, shredded
  • natural yogurt, to serve (optional)
  • Place the fruit, cinnamon stick and orange rind and juice in a small saucepan and simmer gently for 12–15 minutes.
  • Remove the cinnamon stick and leave the compote to cool for 3–4 minutes, then stir in the mint.
  • Serve with dollops of natural yogurt, if liked.
