Baked Spiced Bananas

Ingredients
  • 4 ripe bananas, sliced lengthways
  • butter, for greasing
  • 1 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 50 g (2 oz) flaked almonds
  • 3 knobs of stem ginger, diced
  • 200 g (7 oz) natural yogurt
Directions
  • Place the bananas in a lightly greased ovenproof dish. Sprinkle over the spices, lemon juice and almonds.
  • Bake in a preheated oven, 180°C (350°F), Gas Mark 4, for 12–15 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, mix together the stem ginger and yogurt in a bowl.
  • Serve the bananas with dollops of the yogurt.
